London Road Safety Award

The London Road Safety Council runs an award scheme to highlight and reward innovation and good practice in road safety education in London. Introduced in 2003 as the Laurie Bunn Award, in memory of a past Chairman, the Trustees have now renamed it the London Road Safety Award.

The LRSC looks forward to soon resuming this important recognition.

2016 The Vale School for the ‘Travelators’ – its youth travel ambassador scheme for children with special needs. LRSC president, James Cracknell, presented the award to teacher Richard Tharp and pupils from the school. More…

2015 The London borough of Bexley for its practical pedestrian training scheme ‘Walkability’. LRSC chairman, councillor Wendy Brice-Thompson, presented the award to Bexley’s mayor, councillor Sybil Camsey. More

2010 Daniel Beckett, London Borough of Bromley, for the ‘Poetry in Motion’ initiative which challenges pupils to write poems about their walk to school. More
